Seems like $3-400. I can't say for sure. I just have too much going on in the spring and summer. Gardens, grass to cut, grass to plant, trees and things to tend to. All sorts of outdoors projects. I just built a trommel and fish trap and I'm excited to put those to work. It could be fall or late summer before I get around to the engine.

Got a neighbor to help me measure it. Seems to be about 3/8" off. I had a pretty big tumble at one point, that bent the axle, and broke the swing arm. I'm guessing this was bent at the same time. Now I need to figure out if there is a bend in the main portion of the frame. I think I can straighten this part out.

Hey guys I recently picked up an 87 lt230s for the wife. Came in a box of parts, so I put it all back together with a new Weisco piston and rings. Wiring in the clymer manual is absolutely useless. I have no spark. The quad according to the manual is supposed to have an ignition switch. Which it does not. Also not sure if the kill switch is operational. Machine ran once before, for about 30 minutes and I had to park it. I noticed a puddle of oil so I pulled the motor back out to replace a few gaskets/seals (I prefer working on my bench). Reinstalled the motor and now no spark. I'm wondering if I moved around some of the botched wiring from the previous owner and now have something grounded that shouldn't be, or vice versa.. Any help is appreciated. The Mrs. is getting anxious.

Much appreciated,

Nick

Atvgalaxy is having a huge sale on products, so i bought a lonestar chrome steering stem for less than 200. Its anti-vibe made for an lt250r, but it should bolt-up perfectly. The lt250r steering stem is 1" longer, so it'll be perfect cause i have shorter than stock tag handlebars. The light is no longer going to be installed. Im thinking about buying some lights that install to the top anti-vibe mount.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Check your grounds and check for damaged wiring. Did the kill switch work when you had it running? Welcome to the forums

Do you know if the original 250r stems bolt up to the 230s? Mine has been welded before and I should probably find a good replacement. What kind of light options are you looking into? LED?

Can't wait to see some pics of this thing

It should bolt up, but i believe the top bushing runs in a different spot because its 1" longer, so try to find one that isnt worn too much from the bushing, because who knows where the top bushing is going to relocate to on the stem
