Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

No where near the "land of sand" sorry. 90 minutes to San Francisco, 90 minutes to Lake Tahoe. 4 hours to Pismo Beach, 4 hours to Sand Mountain outside of Reno, NV! But I do know of a basket case 85 I will check the condition of the case, and his willingness to part with it!

A twist throttle???? I thought about that when I first started riding quads, because of my long MX career. But I don't think with the type of tight, technical trail riding I do around here, it would be very safe. Now if it was all dunes, all the time.....................

And sorry QS230, about that rant about buying a house. That was not me! My wife decided she wanted to jump in to this little chat to educate the the youth of America under the guise of PoolGod230!! Though good advice, this is not the place for it.

I informed her if she wants to play in here, keep it to fun stuff and do it with her own logon!
good advice it is indeed, but i prefer duct tape and zip ties to bailing wire and bubble gum. half of my plastice are held on by zip ties hahaha. i should be digging into my rebuild soon, i just need to pass my "test" on a dr125 motor because he doesnt want to fix the mess i could make of the 230.

Also, I think I read that 400ex wheels will fit on a 230s. Is that correct?

And to PoolGod, you wanting to sell that stage one cam when you get the stage 2 in?
Front bumpers prevent damage when you or someone else screws up, kinda like helmets, chest protectors, boots, etc......... read my bio and learn from my mistakes! It is not a matter of if, but WHEN, and trust me, "when" will happen!!! kinda like shi@t, happens.

I will measure the spacing on the 400ex wheels and get back to you, but I think you are correct.

sorry, but that cam is going to go into my wifes bike......... Still waiting to see if my 230 "windfall" is going to go through with my work buddy(talked about it a few pages back). Now there other relatives involved that have $$$$$ in their eyes...

Off Subject (again)
My 85 was a basket case when I bought it for $150.00. Its sloooooowly coming together but I need a left center case. The one on it has been welded up but the shift shaft through put is warped. When I put it back together, the shifter will not move freely. It will not go back to the center position after shifting up or down. I cant see spending $300.00 for a new case half. I watch ebay for a good deal on a used unit. But so far,no luck.
P.G. you live in the "land of sand", maybe you know someone that has a spare laying around. They may even want to part with it for a reasonable price.
Common man...................hook a brotha up.
Theres a brand new 230s twist throttle kit in it for ya ( if you want/need it of course).

Latter.

I know you will pay more in shipping then the cost of the new part! bikebandit, alpha-sports, name your place, easy to get and cheap. sure the gasket just isn't gone? when I replaced mine, I got rid of the stock in-tank filter and replaced it with a high flow clear inline one. Don't know if it is better or not, but less guessing and wrenchin, if it clogs up!

schirtzy how did your quad run before? did it shift through all the gears fine? no clunking in, no poppin out? do you always use the clutch when you shift? no knocking in the engine? it looks like pieces of the inner cases to me, though.
