Hey Guys,

I'm working on getting a bunch of parts together to rebuild the rear of my 230 ('87). The swing arm was extended and I am 99.9% sure it has a different shock. The problem is the shock bearings and/or bushings seem to be non-existant. You can see and hear it clunking around when you lift up the rear.

Would a shock bearing kit for a 250r, like this one...

Shock bearing kit

fit a stock '87 230s shock?

Thanks for your help!</end quote></div>

Welcome 1st of all!! I'll tell you one thing, the swingarm and its bearings are the achillies heel of our little machines......... It may be tedious, but read this entire thread from the beginning and you will understand.. Keep looking for the EXACT bearing kit, trust me there a ton of the correct kits out there. They are cheap, so buy several, you WILL need them.
OOps! I am a tard, just relized you were talking about SHOCK bearings/bushings!
From what I understand there are zero parts for the 230 shocks and they are not rebuildable in any way. As usual, I may be wrong! Go read the Whole thread anyhow, like I said, tedious, but worth it.

Thank You Poolgod230! I understand what your saying, but I'm not looking to "rebuild" the whole shock.

If anyone wants to have a look, heres a scan from my shop manual showing an '87+ swingarm and shock. I have circled the parts I am looking for. I know on earlier models these parts (from what i understand) aren't replaceable.

Maybe I would be better off going to the hardware store and finding some teflon or brass bushings that fit as close as possible.

click on the link to see the image.

Thanks for your help,

Knock wood, but I hope to kick the Bit@h to life by Sunday! If thw wife and kid allow me that is! Yes I am whipped. And kinda loving every minute of it.
