I upgraded from Vista, but had tranferred programs and stuff from a previous computer running XP and I haven't had any problems. In 7 there's an option to run programs with XP settings.

So far I haven't had a single problem. If you're really worried though, you can get the Win 7 professional for $30 as well and that has an XP mode built in so you can run all XP programs.

Anyone ever look at CrankyApe.com? They have all sorts of toys that are repos or total losses. Anyways, check out how nasty the front of this 450R is!

Sweet! Well you'll fall in love with 7 once you learn your way around. It really is much easier.

just a little update on my 230-

its very close to running!!! after 3 jb weld packs and maybe 12 pieces of case and sidecover, its almost ready for huge amounts of RTV to make it seal back up. i know, i sound crazy jb welding the thing back together, but think about it- in normal operation, its under basically no stress whatsoever. it just holds the stator in place and keeps oil inside. and i suppose it also supports the shift shaft a little too.

so if i can manage to keep the chain on no matter what, i figure i should be good.

right now im waiting on new swingarm bearings and maybe a new chain and sprockets along with axle bearings not sure yet. but i dont even wanna run it until good swingarm bearings are in it.

Sounds like one heck of a project! You'll have to call it Frankenstein when you're done!

hmmm well, there's a few preliminary questions,

-how much are you willing to spend?
-are you comfortable doing in-depth work on engines and the like?

that should help give me an idea on the "better and stronger" part. with the right cash and effort, 230s can be built to spank 400ex's like theres no tomorrow. that is, with the right cash and effort haha.

now for the sprockets, what kind of riding do you do? how built is your motor at the moment? and what size rear tires do you plan on running?
