I got an idea, how good is, is yet to be seen. How bout readers posting old original ads for aftermarket and performance parts for the lt230. Or maybe a user manuel or instruction's on how to use/install said product. Magazine pic's would be great.
I should be able to find a few things. Guess Ill need to scan and send them to you.
Just an idea. What u think atvman29?

We have the few magazine covers in there now, and I know it was a popular page, so that would be awesome to have more. Shoot them over when you get a chance.

By the way, anyone know what a normal hit count for a website is per day, say something like one of the ATV magazine websites? 9,000 hits sounds like a lot to me for the first year, but I have a feeling its a pretty minuscule amount in the real world.

I just figured id throw a couple updated pics up of the build im doing. The frame is "Dark Night Metallic" black, I Powder coated the steering stem and bars mirror black, The A-arms and Swing arm and rear grab bar are powder coated matte aluminum. However one of the heating elements went out in my oven while i was baking the swingarm so the lower A-arms have to wait to get powdered untill i fix the oven. I'll keep updating with pics as the build gets farther along

When does one know when they have to much 230 stuff?
I recently come by a good rebuildable core crank for an extra bottom end im working on.
Its been a work in progress, that has been in process, for a couple three or four years now. Anyway.
So i have this core right, and I start going through all my parts and pieces to see what else is needed. I dont want to miss anything on my next order ya know.
Welllll, amongst the crank cases and covers, transmissions and clutches, bearings and seals, what do I find? Two (count'em now, TWO!!) crankshafts and a Versah rebuild kit..........!!
Thats beats all ive ever seen.
The answer to my question? If your asking me, you must be asking the wrong person. After 20+ years, im just getting started good

Hey guys I have a question about starting the LT230. I've never owned a fourstroke before, so what is the process for starting it cold? I can get it started, but it's just such a chore. Do i have to do something with the compression release lever?

well i milled the jug and bored it. had the head reported, titanium valves, new piston. and i think i upgraded the oiling system. i am also running the biggest mikuni carb i could find. oh and a stage3 race grind cam. i borrowed your idea on how to get more air, only i didnt use flex pipe, i used stainless.
hey skullsnaps, i would interested in a stainless head pipe. what would i be looking cost wise?
oh, and randy i will check my list i am sure i forgot alot of stuff i did to that motor. i just sold it thursday for $1500 cash. and i am ready to build another. i know the rod i used i milled myself and balanced it too.

My buddy just bought a whole 660 raptor with $400 slipon, holeshots, new seat for $1000. Cleaned the green junk out of the carbs and its a beast! I had to put 40lb of lead weight on the front bumper to hold the front end down to be able to steer. That much power combined with the overly-aggressive holeshots is a death trap without some way of holding the front end down. With all the cheap big bores out these days its crazy you got that much money out of just an engine. Hook me up with that dude... I got some stuff to sell too!
Its zilla time!

If its chilly, pull the **** out on one side of the clutch, then lift the lever on the other side, this is full choke (lever up and **** in is half choke), then start kicking away. If after a while it still won't start, pull in the decompression lever, then slowly push the kick start bar down until the compression lever tightens back up.
