Check the wires, they may be shorting out somewhere, like the battery teminals. I have no idea whats wrong with your carb in fact, it may be your whole carb that is cutting off your rev. Put it all back together right

Umm just a little question, when is the last time your chain jumped cataway? Cuz if it has recently look at the front sprocket, under it somewhere you will find a red white and blue wires. If any of those are cut it will act like the reverse limiter is in every gear, even fifth. Well thats what happened to mine. So take a look. If thats all thats wrong then just soldier them back together, and its as good as new. Hope that helps. Peace.

I just had the same problem last week on my 05 Z, the plunger is not fastened to the carb in any way, try spraying some wd40 in there after you get the cable nut out then try to work it in and out. It should come free so you can remove it, this is probably your whole problem the rich running condition has fouled your plug. Do your self a favor and remove the cable and get a hand pull choke from your dealer.
