Default Vinson 5-Speed

I've got an 04 Suzuki Vinson 4x4 5-speed with a mere 1200 miles(well, thats not alot by my standards). Recently the shifter has started to get stuck in the up position after up shifting, causing it to stay in a false neutral, untill I click it back down into its normal position. The quad has been perfectly maintained, and the only other problem I had was the 4x4 actuator bolts breaking out. The oil is changed after eveyr ride, and the clutch adjusted regularly. At first I tought it was form running a 20w-50 oil, but after trying a multitude of different grades, I realized it wasnt the oil. This problem is getting very annoying, and with an Ocala National Forrest trip coming up, I'd like t get this fixed as soon as possible. Any input on this would be well appreciatted.
Thanks
Guinness

The are two screws with lock nuts on the outside of the trans. I don't remember which is which, but one adjusts the tension of the shifter. They are under an oval shaped cover with 2 phillips screws.
