I was wandering which wire to cut to eliminate the reverse revlimmiter?ON my 05 z400...

 

I know somebody on here has done it, cant remember which wire it is, havent dont it to mine yet

I tried doing the link thing, but its got a forbiddden word..so i did the copy paste thing.




Unplug the CDI connector
As you look at the connector with the lock at the top, take a small screwdriver slide it in above the pin you want to remove the pull the wire. I took me a while to figure it out, you wont have to pull hard it should slide right out.

1) disconnect the black wire with the red trace and the blue wire with the black trace and put a piece of shrink tube over each one of them and put a dab of silicone in the holes they came out of.

2)pull out the black wire with the brown trace and the black wire with the white trace. Keep track of the hole they came out of. Make a small jumper wire (about 28 ga.) about 2 inches long, slide it under the rubber seal on the black/brown wire connector pin and solder it to the pin. Do the same to the other end of the jumper and solder it to the black/white wire connector pin. Now put these two pins back in there respective holes. put a dab of silicone between the jumper wire and the wire next to it.

the rev limiter will be set the same in reverse as forward.

Todd and I had a good ride. I thought it would be muddy, but it was a fairly dry. We both ended up sore, we rode the back adventure trail 2 times.
We'll have to get together again sometime...maybe nemadji or danbury.

 

I did this mod shortly after I bought my Z and it works great.
