What does you owner's manual say?

Beware the dread "Zerk envy" syndrome, sometimes present in non-Polaris owners.

I have a '99 KQ. I have a little over a thousand miles and have not had any trouble with joints. There are others here that have older models with a lot more milage. Their KQ's don't have grease fitting either. Lets see what problems they have.

I'm old school... I like grease fittings also...

The King has no grease fittings, thats why you cant find them.My brother has 1200 miles on his 97 King and has allready paid out nearly 400 dollars to have both rear wheel bearings [inners and outters, both sides] replaced.

I personally like the grease fittings,it reduces problems/chances of dry bearings ect,

Is there any reason why your brother didn't have zerk fittings installed while having the rear rebuilt? I'm curious also about the front bearings. Why didn't they need replacing too? How about tie-rod ends. How well are those holding up for some of you?

Chuck,
im not certain why the rear bearings went out on the KQ?I can see no way to add a grease fitting to either inner or outer bearings on the KQs ''sealed bearings''.

A sealed bearing is NOT designed to accept any grease, therefore it would be counter productive to try and fit one.

Tie rods are still intact.I did have to do both rear bearings on my 87 Suz Quad Runner to,

I don't know why those bearings would be so hard to add a fitting to, Bill. We do it all the time in the shop. Sometimes the bearing has a liner made of nylon or oil impregnated material. But I have not looked at these bearings yet and the manual doesn't show a good description. Maybe when it warms up in the spring I'll take a look to see what you're describing to me.

Chuck,
if you look at the very small axle housing that helps to cover and protect these rear bearings, you will see that even if you could add a fitting to the bearing,it would be next to impossible to get to.
