Default 2006 Vinson, Mods.. advice needed

Hi there..

I am new to the forum. After studying the market for a year I decided to leave honda and go to a Suzuki Vinson.. so far with over 1000 miles on my Vinson I am VERY pleased .

I am looking into some simple mods though.. to give it a little more bite.. but without altering the engine or risking hurting it, having to rebuild etc.

I was wondering if an aftermarket Exhaust and a good air filter would have noticable results? Also I hear about having to rejet if you get the HMF Powerline or any aftermarket exhaust, why is this? And what does it involve? Sorry I am not mechanically inclined in the least.. I wouldn't mind rejetting I'd just like to understand if it will make the bike unrealable etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.. not looking at spending over $500 cnd. thx.

hye, ive been on the forums for awhile, i know a lil bit,,,,,Yes, Vinsons are awesome fourwheelier, great for trail, but still has some good stock power....U are looking for extra power, i would defintley get the Aftermarket Exhaust, either HMF, or YOSHIMURA...both r great pipes...And no, Jetting has nutin to do really , well, if ur worried about hurting the engine, dont be, re-jetting the carburator, just comes with more air-flow through ur exhaust, which means without re-jetting ur air and fuel mixture, want be right, were it will breathe better...its really simple...u could get the hmf, and the jets for prolly under 300, maybe a tad bit more, then get a KN air filter, i bielive they r 60 for the vinson, then that should be all u need, to step the vinson up to the next notch, hopes this help man, keep us posted, on what happens...

I have a 2006 vinson and have recently purchased an HMF pipe for it.. The best thing to do is go on the HMF website and order from them. you can select you pipe and can choose from a veriety of colors. Once you choose you pipe (HMF utility serires) you select you jetkit and K&N air filter as the next step in completing your order. So from HMF.com you can get an HMF utility series pipe, Jetkit, And a K&N air filter for $362 bucks. this is alot of bite for the buck!!! i am very pleases with my purchace

P.S
if you want the quiet core its an additional $20

When i installed this kit on my vinson there was a great deal of noticable power increase. Anyone will tell you that for the money this is the way to go. also i do not reccomend buying a yoshi pipe. they are not only much more expencive but the customer servise is very poor compared to HMF.. well good luck and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask!!

Thank-you guys for the feedback! As noted I do not know much about modding ATV's... I just have a couple more questions.

On the Website "HMF" , should I get the pipe with a spark arester? this is free but u have to select it? Also Is the Ecosystem pipe worth the extra money?

I'm just trying to do the best I can for the buck.. I love my Vinson just want a little more kick when I put the throttle down .

hello
As for the spark arester that is a must seeing as how it is a regulation on state trails.

The ecosystem pipe is not worth the extra money. It is just a quieter version of the utillity series pipe and its also not going to give you as much power as the utillity series(the quieter the pipe the less power it goin to give you)

P.S.
when selecting your filter and jetkit package be sure to select the "Track Kit" not the "Comp kit" (you do not need it)
and as for the anadized end cap, its not worth the extra 20 bucks.

and more questions? feel free to ask!!

Thank's again for the quick response . I am getting the quietcore with the Utility series, will I lose power by using it? I don't want a deafening loud machine.

I will keep you all posted.. my plans are to go ahead and order that HMF pipe with the trail kit.. if anyone can find a better deal in Canada or simiular price let me know.. I'm assuming the shipping will kill me on this.
