My CPU might use more battery power when not running than it should but that was'nt a problem. Mine was also from not charging enough while running especially with all the lights on. Review my posts on how I fixed it because it worked for me. I'm going into winter and still haven't had any problems. I do notice that CPU drain when it sits for a long time but it still starts. If I could of got it free I would of changed it to the upgraded one also but my warranty period was over.

Guys, read over the past few pages here in this section we have talked about the cure. The ecu is probably not it and I'm living proof. Here it is December 2010 and my charging problems are over with NO problems since. I wouldn't suggest butchering your wiring unless you have some experience soldering because it can be tricky if you never did it. At least pratice on soldering scrap wire together until you get the hang of it and have the confidence to proceed.

I have an 05 Kingquad with the same battery issues. I know your post is from 2008. Have you heard any thing back from Suzuki on this issue?

i dont know if you saw the last post take the keys out after you charge or get a new battery. i owned a suzuki dealership. my 2006 KQ would die after a couple weeks. my tech called suzuki, they stated the cpu is running when the key is in the off position but in the ignition. simple fix.
