I have not changed anything and ran mime all day Sat. and Sun. It ran fine IF I LET IT WARM UP FOR 5-10 MINUTES. I plan to turn the pilot screw out another 1/2 turn and see if it helps. I forgot to check if it surges like you stated yours does.

swilliamfred, have you tried to turn your pilot screw out more yet? or took to a dealer? If so what did they find.

Sorry I could not reply earlier, net has been down in the area.

I took a long shot and started looking at the fuel valve. Darn if you can not buy a new diaphragm for the thing. They make you buy the whole valve. I took it apart and saw that the diaphragm has a flap like a little briggs has. It was not in very good shape. The new valve arrived and I installed it and it will run at the lowest rpm and not skip a beat. I let it run for half an hour. Could not believe it.

Might be your trouble. Mine has over 4000 miles in the 5 years I have had it. I bet I am not the only one who has found this problem.

Good luck

Scott

Scott, did you run it this past weekend? Still going strong? Did you try to run it with the fuel valve in the PRI position?

Ok to mine. I took fuel valve apart and it everything looked good including the diaphragm. Check reading on vacuum to fuel valve, good, comparied both Eiger's. I took carb out again and cleaned again and set pilot screw out at 5 turns. It ran rough like it was rich. I turned it down to 2 out. It ran good and then I went down to 1 1/2 out. Today I let it warm up for more then 10 minutes with choke on before turning it off. It ran fine after that but did die once. I want to try to warm it up just a couple of minutes and take choke off and see what happens. I might need to move the screw back out to 2 turns. I think there was somthing in the carb and it finally came out (although it looked very clean to me).

I have put on a couple hundred miles in the last week. Runs like a new one. I have never tried running it in the PRI position.
