Help with LT80
#1
hey all, i got a cpl questions and any help will be appreciated.
i used the search feature and could not find my answers, so here goes.
just got my kid a 93 lt 80 used for 50 bucks
put a belt on it and cleaned the carb, runs great, heres the prob.
after running it about 10 min on the track out back, it stalled, had to crank it a long time before it would start. seems to have run the bowl dry.
the fuel line only flow s gas while cranking it, and it is a very slight trickle of fuel.
seems the vacume actuated fuel pump is not working properly.
is there anyway to convert to a gravity fed set up as i think the fuel pump is useless. or is there anything i should be looking for to correct.
2nd question.
is there any kind of oil in the tranmission or anywhere else. if so, where does it go, how much and what kind?
any info will be greatly appreciated.
thanx

Try the petcock on prime. Fuel should flow constant. I've blown back on the fuel line to get junk out of the petcock also.
If running on prime works you can go to autozone or wherever and get a fuel line shut off and a filter.
Oil: By the front sprocket there is a weep hole (bolt). Fill tranny till oil comes out. The fill is above on the top, drain on the bottom.

thanks for the reply.
i fixed the fuel pump problem by doing away with it.
i pulled out pump, and took the large o ring off of the pump shaft,
this allows fuel to flow all the time, let the float do the job, no leaks and
never ran this good.
as for the oil, what type of fluid goes in the trans?
and one last thing, any idea how to adjust the chain? its real worn
and cant see any type of adjustment.
maybe i need to replace the chain/.'
thanks again
