Couldn't you just put a fine screen on the end of the hose with a hose clamp around it in case you want to replace it? The screen(like some of those black screens for doors) should work just fine.

 

Yeh I think that would work to. I was just using what I had. Maybe even pantyhose would be a finer filter.

 

Pantyhose would probably be a finer filter but I was thinking the screen would work better because if it gets wet it shouldn't clog up and posisbly restrict air flow. The filter doesn't need to be super fine- just fine enough to keep out seeds, pollen, dirt etc.
