YA that dealer is a moran, there was several updates for the 700 king quad.

1 ecm for the reverse overide which related to your problem which is cover for 5 years.

2 throttle resealing, water getting into the throttle housing

3 Just came out few months ago, not warrenty only if you complain about it. Battery draining, and cold weather. You can get a new ecm as long as it is with in 36 months of purchase.

where abouts are you located at. I m in Minnesota

Hi guys first post here.

I just purchased a used 05 KQ 700.

I have noticed that my machine has a rev limiter in reverse, but the override button does not override it. Is this the PCM change I'm reading about?

Some 2005 King Quad 700's had problems with reverse, as was said, it was a bushing that would fail. Dealer SHOULD fix this at no charge.

A friend of mine had the reverse failure and he had to pay for it out of his own pocket. Suzuki and the dealer wouldn't fix it under warranty. He also had a problem with dirt getting past the filter and it wrecked his engine. Again, Suzuki and the dealer said it wasn't covered. He sold it at a loss just to get rid of it. He's owned Suzuki motorcycles, cars and other products for years. Loyal customer. Easily spent 100 grand with Suzuki over the years. They lost him as a customer forever because they wouldn't stand behind their product. He sold the KQ and bought a new Grizzly and several months later bought a new Polaris. Only Suzuki product he has now is his extensively modded samurai that he uses for a trail rig. Even sold his suzuki outboard motor.
