Default 2004 Suzuki LTZ250 ignition problem

Recently bought this bike from its original owner. It had been submerged in water up to the bottom of the fuel tank while running. He had the top end rebuilt, carburetor cleaned, and changed the engine oil and final drive oil at the local Suzuki dealer. When the mechanic tried to start it after the rebuild; it would'nt fire at all. He said the stator was bad. Does anyone know the specs. I should be testing for? Peak voltage, ohm specs. and which color wires to perform these tests. Thanks, Keith

I changed the CDI with that of a known running bike. Still no fire.

Back to Top. The stator tests at 1.1 ohms on any combination of the three wires. The pickup tests at 116.9 ohms. Doesn't seem right, but i have nothing to compare it to. Any ideas guys? Thanks, Keith

The LT-Z250 and the OZARK both have the same stator and pickup. Correct?

Do these never have electrical problems? I installed a brand new stator and pickup coil today and no fire........Sure could use some help? Even if you have an idea, I'm out of them. Key switch next i guess.
