Trailer winch?? a budget solution?
So i was at lowes the other day and saw this trailer winch (for boats to be pulled up on trailer). This thing was only thirty five bucks. I know it would be ghetto, but would this be option if I could find a way to install it on my front rack? I have an old quad and will be getting a new one as soon as the money is right, but until then I would love to have something to get me out of jams. Has anyone done this? It is a hand crank winch. I just can't justify throwing a warn on this old kq, it's on it's last leg, lol. Opinions would be great.

Not a bad question, but if you have the money for the warn winch, or whatever brand, you can always transfer it on the new atv when you get it. All you are out is a little time and a mounting bracket. I don't think the boat winch will work out well as you know when you get these stuck, they are stuck and it does take quite a bit of power (or mechanical advantage) to get it out. Maybe someone else on the forum has some better insight on this....

MDJ104, very miygiver (spelling is soo bad) of you. That is really a smart solution to that problem. I was thinking off either spacing the winch with something or shortening (fabricating a workable handle) the handle. But I am glad to hear that it can work.
Yeah, I know a warn would be nice, but I don't want to install and lose that mounting bracket either. Money is tight for me these days. Anyway. Anyone else????
