Default Lt 80 rebuild

The used LT80 I just purchased for my son (Christmas gift) has a blown cylinder gasket. The compression is about 65 pounds. I'm considering doing the rebuild myself. THe local dealer wants about $250 in labor. 25 years ago, I rebuilt my engine numerous times on my CR 125 Elsinor. I'm thinking that this job should not be so bad.

This is what I'm considering:
replacing piston and rings and cylinder and head gaskets.

Should I also replace the circlip that holds the piston in place? how about the piston pin bearing?
Should I replace anything else since I have it down?
Also, what is the recommend torque on the cylinder bolts and heads?

If you can think of anything else I might be missing, I would appreciat your imput.

Thanks,

Coastga

Yes, get a new piston (next size and have the cyl bored). Yes, get a new piston(kit), piston pin, brg, and cir-clips. Head and base gaskets.
Please use Zuki parts. Don't be conned into a Wiseco piston.
115 inch pounds on the head nuts.
Parts will cost about 70 bucks and a bore around 40.
That'll put you in tip-top shape.

Thanks,

I will look at purchasing the parts this week. What has surpirised me is the price difference between a standard piston and one that is slightly over sized.
