03 Eiger 400 *NEED OPINIONS*

Great ATV's. I have a little over 1700 on mine, and have rolled it once, and its been put on its side another time, still runs great. I plow every winter with it, and it always is reliable. Only complaint I have is that the rear drum never seems to be adjusted right, and often fills with mud, so it can be a PITA to fix it. But thats pretty minor. I'd say 2000 miles is pretty normal for a quad that age. I know of an ATV thats only a few years old with 10,000 miles. Just depends how often someone goes. The fact that its devoid of alot of electronics isn't necessarily bad either, alot less to go wrong. I'd also suggest skids, cause I've often found myself bottoming out with it.

my EIGER is 2 years old. It has been problem free. We use it during hunting season it gets used every day in all sorts of weather we pack it with deer corn tree stands and people. I love it as far as trail riding my buddies have a sporstman 500 a grizzly 700 and a brute force 750 the EIGER runs with them with no problem.

I have not had any issues with mine and would not take my money back for it. Good atv without all the bells and whistles. Find out how well it has been maintained - oil change, fluids, brakes, belt - if its auto, etc., what kind of riding was done mostly and if any major work has been done to it.

They are great quads. I had a problem with my 02 (also have an 06) that took 1 1/2 years to figure out. It finaly got to the point it would not start. (it would die intermittently when slowing down and then hard to start and played with carb to many times to count) The magnets on the flywheel came off (I think they slowly came off one by one over time). This is starting to be more common. It is not cheap if fix. But this is they only problem I have had with either one of mine.
I would check the spark real good and make sure it has good spark and not intermittment at all. Even if just a little lack of spark, it could be a sign that the magnets are starting to come loose.
Would I let this stop me from buying an Eiger--NO. They are great and I'm sure all ATV's will have some type of problem.

I have an 04 and an 05 Eiger. Both were stolen and had the crap beaten out of them. Got them back and I had to replace the plastic, changed the oils and they've been very dependable.
