I basically mounted the 250S shock on the +4 swingarm and set the top mount so the seat height is 29-30 inches.

did you weld that mount on, or did you just drill more holes for different positions?

I don't remember seeing a 230S with an external reservoir so maybe that's a 250S shock? Then again, the 250S shocks should be white, but maybe its painted. Who knows. You could probably email the seller and ask him what the eye to eye is.

Hope this helps.
hey i finaly figured out what that was from, its an lt230e rear shock. and i think im gonna go for it. i just wish it had the threaded shock body like the s shock does, but hey its got a rezzie and should be the same length, so it should be nice!

so then what about that mod you mentioned previously (probably in the mega thread) about cutting the stock upper mount, or something like that?

That was just to lower the back an inch or so with the stock stuff. With a new, longer shock, I didn't want the back higher than stock, so I had to make a whole new mount. I like the seat to be 29-30 inches unloaded.

With the stock stuff you can just cut some off the stock mount and then drill a new hole. Its simple and probably the best mod-per-effort you can do.

yeah, i think im gonna get a used 230E shock (rezzied' and same length as stock) and do the lowering mod.

do you have any expirience with the E shocks? are they the same spring rate as the S units?
