LT230 Hi-Velocity Intake Porting
#11
Bigger valves??? Nah. The 250x comes with two 25.5mm valves for a combined area of 1020mm^2. The 33mm single valve of the 250S has a 855mm^2 area. You'd need a 38mm valve to beat the 250x and there's no way you're going to squeeze in that big of a valve. There's no sense in worrying about it anyway since you can't rev as high as a 250x due to the stroke length.
Porting??? Yes. I think that can make or break your ride.

oh, a month???? um, well, that might be a problem for me (BUSY race season with practice every week). Is there any way to expedite the work???
Maybe i'll get another cheep jug off of ebay send it thier way...
and for the valves, i really like kibblewhite and they're very big on whipping up custom valves at a moments notice, but i was just wondering if i would need fancy specs and stuff like that, or could i just give them my old valves and tell them to give me them im +3mm or whatever? also, how much do you think it would cost for the machining and installation of the bigger seats?

yeah i think ive got it figured out.
ima buy a cheep jug and send it to kk asap.
then, when i get all that back, ima keep my stock size valves (but replace any if worn) and do some nice, basic port work.
that should be good enough for me, for now.
oh and btw, remember my story of my friend's 300ex? well i rode it the other day and all i can say is it has NO ***** compared to my 230. pulling out of corners is no comparison and the 230 takes it hands down, however the ex has a way higher top speed. so im guessing most of that is just in the gearing, and maybe my 230 has more done to it than i thought it does. plus, the handling between the two machines is absoloutley identical, braking, cornering, jumping, all dead even. (although i have wayyyy better tires and mine feels a little better, theyre basically the same suspension-wise) plus, mines got a kicker so i can expect more reliable starts, too.
so, all in all, im pretty dam happy with my 230, and i hope ill be even happier with my 260

oh, wow, i never knew that, 1:1 sounds very high actually, lol.
well, all i know is my 230 currently walks all over my buddy's ex at the moment, but in drags it basically runs even, so i guess my 260 kit and some porting should help me in that department
