The stator cover may just need a new gasket. Drain the oil-take off cover and replace the gasket. Thats if the chain hasn't come off the drive sprocket and cracked the cover which is common for these machines. Although you can usually weld the cover or just JB weld it.
Good luck

After repairing mine once or twice i finally have the solution to a broken case.
Check your swingarm bushings.
Make sure your chain is tensioned properly.
Check chain tension with the bike sitting alone, and then sit on it and see what it looks like.

They used needle bearings in the swingarm and that's not really the best solution.
The bearings break easily and then the swingarm wobbles and allows the chain tension to float free.
And bamm, the chain falls off.

My mechanic / engineer made me solid bushings and a new swingarm front.
It pivots awesomely and the chain tension stays.
As we speak the case is being welded for all the broken parts, new head gaskets and a rebuild.

Can't wait........
Was riding wheelies before the rebuild might need a roll cage when it's done.

Remember, the rider goes on top.

The chain will also come off if you have bad rear wheel bearings and like someone said bad swingarm bearings. I actually drilled and tapped a hole for a grease zirk in my 230 swingarm to keep the needle bearings in good shape.
I want to say the book says you need 1 1/2" inches of slack (midspan) of the chain with no one on the machine. I set my chain to 1 1/2 inches and have never had the chain come off-knock on wood.
And ofcourse, the chain and sprockets need to be in good shape.
Vince's Cycle sells a chain gaurd that bolts to the stator cover that looks like it would really protect this cover from the chain. Haven't tried it though.

IS that with the choke on? My guess is there is something wrong with the choke circuit/carb.

did you try a new spark plug?

Are you getting no spark at all? Or spark sometimes and sometimes not?

loose wires? corroded wires? something wrong with kill switch?

Are you sure you replaced the right coil in the magneto?
