87 lt230e help
#1
Hi I'm new to the forums and to suzukis so I'm in need of help. When I got it, it was seized up and had no carb. I oiled it up and got it moving then put a 300 king quad carb on it. But it smoked so I re-ringed. It quit smoking for about a month and slowly started back, I rode it like that for a while about 2-3 months now and it has good compression. And its blowing oil out of the tail pipe so I just put new vavle seals in and it still smokes. So what do yall think should I ring it again?

the valves them selves might be shot, you might have to reject that carb to work good for the 230 also since its a smaller cc bike, the bore on it could have pits and scores in it also that might be why its tearing your rings up.

I know the carb is to much but it's the smallest I had at the time. I'm not sure on the vavles one might be bent or something and as far as I can tell the bore is fine I honed it as best as I could. but I'm leaning towards the valves. It was smoking pretty bad and I still had good comp.

yea maybe just get like 2 sizes down on the main on that carb and maybe change the needle if you have to and you might be fine, as for the valves i wouldnt be suprised if there worn since the motor was seized and all.
