Nerf Bar Suggestions for ltz 400
#1
Curious what brand everyone is going with for nerf bars these days? Did a little research on Rocky Mt ATV and all the reviews were pretty bad on there for the Tusk ones. Looking for something that is going to be durable and last a while as they are not too cheap.

I have a set of DG propegs on my YFZ, they have held up admirably through 4 seasons. What I have learned, is that the fatter propeg style with kick ups at the end are nice. Even better, go with something that has steel teeth and/or replaceable footpegs.

Mine have been very good. They mount nice on the z400, look good and so far they are still 100% intact. I'm probably going to get the same ones for my Wife's Raptor350 too.....
I think the "bad" reviews are from people who abuse them..... I read things like they "don't stand up to rock hits well" etc..... Well Nerfs are really only designed to keep your feet off the ground, and keep other racers tires from hitting your feet. No pair is made to take hits into rocks very often.....
My buddy has Pro Armor on his 450R that he's welded twice already. Pro Armor told him he was too harsh on them and that he needed to get all 3 pieces separate. That the one piece is not made to handle that much abuse.... They offered him no compensation for having to pay to weld them even though they've now changed the design for the late 2009 models. They knew there was a problem.....and to be honest he was not that hard on them at all.......he does ride hard but they should have handled it.....
Point is, no matter what brand you buy, Tusk, DG, AC, Blingstar, Pro Armor etc...... you will get out of them what you put in. As I said, my Tusk nefs have been fine now, they held up fine the entire year and look ready for next year. If you are keeping the stock heel guards the Tusk IMO are a good way to go.....
