Default 87 lt230E help

Hey. I have an 87 lt230E Quadrunner and when I try to start it I have to spray starting fluid in the air box and almost run down my battery each time I try to ride. Finally when I do get it running, it will idle high and other times it will idle low so I keep having to mess with the choke on the handlebars to keep it idling right. Any ideas??

runnin lean somewhere. make sure your airfilter is clean and charged and u dont have a cracked or loose intake or head gasket leak. If all this is good then its prolly time for a rebuild. In other words no compression
