fearless,
Just to help you out on some of the prices you are asking about, here is a link to Kelly Blue Book site. The ATV's and Motorcycles are in the same category...

never ridden one, but the mags all say the handling is a bit twitchy at speed.
Lots of power with the 700EFI, 26s will not have put stress on the powertrain, so you should be in good shape starting out.
$4k may be a little high though, for a 5-6 year old quad...32-3500 might be more in line if it's really sharp looking

Actually, use this link first. It will ask you for your Zip code when you click on the Motorcycle. That way you will have prices specific to your area. Remember these prices are only guidelines, and don't take into consideration a lot of other variables... accessories, and the real condition of the machine...

I've test ridden a King Quad and liked it a lot. Didn't get a chance to bring it up to high speeds, so I can't vouch for the twitchyness, but I loved it when I rode it.
Much more nimble and agile feeling than the monsterous Cats or PoPos (ridden both of them (08 Sportsman 800 and 09 AC 700 (King Quad motor)).
One thing I like a lot better about the KQ's than the Polaris's is the 4wd system. With Polaris, you can choose from 2x4 and 4x4, and the front diff locks automatically. With the Suzuki, you can choose 2x4 or 4x4, then pick when you want diff lock on. Personal preference really.
The Arctic Cats and Polaris's are going to be more comfortable, but less sporty.
And $4000 is a pretty decent price if the wheeler's in good shape.
Oh, and FYI, 2005 was the first production year of the KQ....Wasn't terribly troublesome, but I remember some issue with the reverse override...can't remember the details though.
Let us know what you get!
