How big of a KQ do I really need??? I have made up my mind that the King Quad is the best 4x4 for me, but I'm not sure if I really need a 750, but I also dont want to get stuck with an under powered quad. My riding and usage needs are:
Utility: Plowing or Snowblowing, towing around trailers and a dump wagon for yard work, Dragging brush and small logs, and hunting/workin out in the woods
Play: Trail Riding and other adventures.
I will most likely upgrade to better and possibly bigger wheels and tires, so I will need enough power to turn something like that.
I am new to the 4x4 sceene and would like some opinions, but I also dont want to break the bank. WHAT SHOULD I DO???

A 500 will do all that a 750 will do minus the top speed. All the things you described are doable with a 500. You'll be using low gearing for almost all utility type things. The bigger engine will allow you to go faster.

That was my assumption in the first place. I am not looking for top end speed, but rather a versatle machine that will do everyting. What about the older 700's is that something I should take a look at or do the have issues?

I have the 700 King and the only reason I went with the 700 was the price difference between a 450 and 700 was only $800 at the time. I believe the physical size of the 450, 500, and 750 are all the same so the price difference would mainly be the power and accessories.
As for the answer: the 500 would probably do all you need it to do but I like my 700 power (not only higher speed but more low end grunt).

For what you are needing to use the quad for, a 450 or 500 King will do just fine. I know my 500 has more than enough power to do what I need... which is similar to your requirement... plus some technical trail riding.
If you are going to a little larger tires, the 500 would probably be better. However, there is a simple "shim" mod that can be done on the clutch that will get the gearing back from larger tires on the 450 or 500 (or 700/750 for that matter)
As previously said, try and ride a couple and see what you think.

Thanks, I am going to look at a 2006 KQ 700, it has high mileage but appears to be in well maintained condition. It has about 2000 mikes on it and I am going to get the vin to check it out. The guy wants $4000 but there is no way im paying that fr that kind of mileage. I was gonna offer him $3000 and see what happens. Is there anyting I should be looking for with a high mileage machine like this?

I looked at the quad today, 2006 KQ 700 other than the situation being a little shaddy, it looked really good. It has 2200 miles on it and everything seems in order. I am gonna try to talk him down again from $3500, and I am waiting for the vin to see if its stolen or not. I wouldn't think so becaue he had the NYS reg in his name but you can never be too sure. It needs a winch as he doesn't have one on it, and I would like to get a plow. I checked at the dealer and they just said to look for wearable items like the CV boots tierods and steering joints. I figure even it that stuff is going its easy to replace and i'm getting a pretty nice quad for fairly cheap. If you have any comment or suggestions please let me know. This will be my first big wheeler so its all kind new to me.
