Default Lt50 - lta50 model changes years??

Does any one know which year the LT50 was discontinued and the the LTA 50 was released.

Im after one for my son ,5 on his birthday. Im hoping i will get one from a friend whos kid has out grown it but still waiting on the verdict from the kid..

I have been looking on the second hand market , flea bay etc, and ii see there are some fairly poor copies of the older model. i also see there are LTA 50 going back as far as 2002 , and older style lt 50 that are claiming to beonly 4 years old.

So did the models overlap for that many years, i know there is always a X over pointof around 18 months when you will get ones sold late etc claiming they are the next years model.

I am not to concerned about theage of a quad , just that it is genuine suzuki and i dont get my fingers burnt by a chinese prentender

The LTZ-50 (4-stroke) started in 2006 and runs now currently. The LTA-50 (2-stroke) was 2005 and before, but not sure when that model started.

Hope that helps a little.

No offence but I'd look for another brand of 50.
The LT50 is a slug at best with less than no suspension.
Eton, Kasea, DRR, Apex are some good options.
