Help with Suzuki Lt80 reed cage please

Question Help with Suzuki Lt80 reed cage please

I am trying to get the reed cage off my lt80 so that i can install the power reeds. but it seems the cage screws are way over tightened. any suggestions to help me get the screws lose and out?

does it damage anything by doing that?

iirc, I used a pliers on them with the motor out as I stripped the screw driver slots. channel lock or something. forget. I stripped it with a cordless impact. or, was that something else. forget lol. PB blaster is my friend as well. I think it may have been something else. I don't even remember. if it's regular bolt heads then yeah, the impact should work. if it's phillips head it may be alittle harder than that...

No, you won't hurt anything using a HAND impact driver.

Thanks everyone! i finally got them installed. after i got it started i realized that the fuel line had a crack in it so it was spilling gas all over. so that was a pain in the ***. but after i took care of that and took it out. the new power reeds really helped and i can tell a difference they are awesome. Thanks again for the help!

Default lt80 reed block screws

Just a little tip for anyone having this problem in the future....Vice grips....lock on the shoulder of the screw and break them loose....very simple
