Those plastics look amazing. Can't believe they turned out that good from what you originally had. The colors are kind of wild on the rest of it, but the plastics are turned out really good for having so many cracks and breaks. Cant wait to see the thing finished. Lets just hope it starts right up.

Yes but they scratch and chip back down to the red extremely easy I may have to do some touch up then clear coat them. I have my fingers crossed because it would only run for 5-8 seconds before I stripped it down again but the cold weather might have had something to do with that.

5-8 senconds. I would say you probably need to adjust your valves and adjust your carb. But just wait until you kick it over first and see what happens.

There is no way in hell I am cracking that block open again to do a valve adjustment, I hope it is a carb issue because it ran fine before that.

The only huge problem I did not touch is the fact it slips out of gear when you rev on it hard sometimes, I thought it might be not enough torque on the clutch pressure plate but the more I think about it, it probably is the drive gear that meshes against each of the gears.

To do a valve adjustment, you don't need to crack open the block. Actually I would probably recommend a valve check to just make sure they are in spec unless you already did it. All you do is unscrew the two caps on the top head of the engine and then you put the piston at top dead center. You can do this by taking out the spark plug and then putting the quad in gear, probably 5th gear would be easiest. Then you turn the rear wheels in the air and you turn them over until the piston is at tdc, but be careful as the wheels tend to keep turning as you get towards tdc, then just insert your feeler gauge to check the valves and make adjustments as needed. I would only do that if it doesn't run good when you start it because I see that you cleaned the carb and put a new carb kit in.

I have done valve jobs on L head snowblower engines like that, makes sense the caps are located there. I have even used a shaving tool to get a better angle on the vavle edge and port opening. I will keep this in mind when I go to kick it over, Thanks!

I'm hoping somebody buys my CR80 this week so I have some cash to buy the parts needed, like rings and gaskets.

I FINALLY got around to tubing, priming and painting these wheels. That's about all I had time to do though, they look a lot better the dents are not as visible.
