So from a rusted out air filter basket to finished product for about $10.

There is a spot that it did not reach to I am just going to fill in with foam sealer.

Installed the new throttle cable witch was the wrong one because this has a twist throttle off a who knows what, so I had to cut and shorten the outer casing and tape it back together, took well over an hour!

I put on the new grips, and discovered an oil leak on the opposite side so before I try and start it I'm going to fix it. I propped it up on an angle to drain the oil to the opposite side of the engine. Removed a few bolts and filled the holes with gasket sealer and tightened them back down seems to have stopped most the leaking.

Mission Complete, I just kicked it over with some fuel treatment and fully syntheticed up. Took about 10 kicks, wow do these have a lot of compression compared to the 250r kicking over! I need to stop a few more leaks though the head leaks oil, might be loose bolts. First run on the new fibers and disks was interesting. The whole machine shook like a bitch the first 10 takeoffs letting the clutch out and then smoothned out after that. But the kill switch and light switch do not work, the lights stay on and you have to pull the plug wire to shut it off?

Question

I am still a little skeptical about the clutch and the shaking. The clutch dosent grab until it is almost fully out and it grabs fast and hard, does this mean I have the pressure plate too tight because I torqued it to 8lbs?

Also I thought the choke "ON" was when the lever was down, witch means the little shaft coming out of the top of the carb's side is UP/OUT. But it only runs with the choke lever down and when I say runs I mean it kicks over the first kick and idles like a purring cat.

Besides for the electrical problem and the clutch grab concerns it runs and drives. This is what it looks like put back together with the custom grill mod!

Cool

Being the end of the year it wouldn't sell for $800, so I stripped it down and I am going to paint it this weekend for about $15

Sand it down, prime it. Paint the plastics yellow with Krylon Fusion so it looks like a quad racer, lime green frame with red and blue accents.

Cool Paint!!

Ok so the $15 limit turned into $40 haha I picked up the paint today and stripped absolutely everything off the frame and boxed everything to color.

I made sure to get the "fusion" for the fenders, and engine enamel for the engine, exhaust, and frame (which requires $pecial primer)
