I haven't noticed any yet it's supposedly a whole new frame, but there IS a crack in the swing arm that runs through a weld (weld failed)

So the flat style 87-92 fits in an 85/86 frame fine??

Yeah man post a picture, so the 87-92 swing arms are all the same engineering wise? I bet they are a hard part to come across all being eaten up already. What about the front A arms? will the 87-92 A arms fit the 85/86 and would there be any advantage in using these over the 85/86 A arms?

Also my spare rear shock doesn't have an adjustment **** on the reservoir? Is the knobbed reservoir off an later year model or something? It looks as if I can screw my old hose and reservoir onto the spare shock but I would still like to know what they are filled with gas/oil and what kind of pressure the hose and reservoir is under.

ok i will and ya they are but there stroger and there easier to adjust the chain on they may be longer to ill have to do some measuring no ther actually not that hard to come across the 86 parts are hard to come acrossed but i can find 87 and up parts alll the time i havent tryed the a arms but i think there basically the same thing in length i think they just moved the shock mount on them

post a pic plz of the difference on the shocks so i can see after i think about that ive never did research on that ill have to see and let u know what they are filled with the pressure i might be able ti find to when i see what there filled with ill get a pic of the swingarm up this evening

There shouldn't be any difference in ride height after adjustments are made. I wonder if the placement of the shock mount on the A arms between the generations makes a difference in the ride height.

well it would make it sit lower but you would have to have longer shocks because if u stick with the stock 86 arms and want to use the 87 shocks you have to move the top shock mount to the top of the bar and heres a pic of the swingarm

That looks like a much better engineered swing arm, reminds me of an old school waffle maker you use over a fire. The stock looks to be I beam or boxed in slightly compared to smooth edged like the 85/86.

I straightened out the bent fender bracket I bought off ebay, came out decent, now I just have to bolt it on after I get the plastics back on.

Angry Son of a bitch!

So I did all kinds of electrical work witch I will post later on, and I got the engine running again after the carb rebuild on the second kick! Riped it back into the sandpits again and it ran good for a while! Still starts and runs with no problem BUT there is this knocking sound coming from the block it sounds horrible, so I took this video quick before I shut it off:

LT250R *UNSOLVED PROBLEM* (Cell Phone) on Vimeo

YouTube - LT250R *UNSOLVED PROBLEM* (Cell Phone)

So I decided to rev it up expecting the worse at high RPMs with a possible bad engine bearing, nope it actually went away until it came back to around idle and I am pretty sure that wasn't just the exaust drounding out the knocking sound. The sound is coming from the clutch side, my guess is that "something" (gear, clutch basket, etc.) is loose and wobbles but just like a ball on a string gravity takes over when the RPMs increase and straighten out whatever is wobbling or loose sort of the same concept as a centrifugal go kart clutch. So I'll take it apart and lets HOPE it's not a main bearing or transmission problem!
