Default Suzuki eIGER QuadRunner Choke problem...

My friend took off the carb and cleaned it out after it sat for 8 months and the gas congealed in the carb. Got it all but the choke cable put back and he broke the plastic nut on it (I personally cant see where the nut went,). It will crank and run, but as soon as you take the choke off it or if you somehow manage to get it warm enough and take the choke off it will idle until you give it gas and then it will die... I'm not sure what to be checking here. Being known that it runs I know it has spark, fuel, air, and compression. No backfiring, no kicking, or bucking, and idles like new. Any diagrams that can show me how this thing is supposed to look will be great appreciated. Any other tips, or what to look for or check?

I know this is probably an oxymoron fix but. Were both stumped.

Thanks in advance,
James

Also, I'm not sure what size motor it is. Its a 2002 Suzuki Eiger QuadRunner 4/2 wheel drive I believe its automatic.

OK. The Choke cable isn't "broken" When we get it cranked, It runs until it gets hot to where we can un-choke it. but since the nut isn't there the whole cable moves and doesn't un-choke it. instead it keeps it choked... My idea is to remove the choke cable and put an old fashioned push pull choke on it. like from the 80s none electric choked cars... OR when it gets hot pull the whole cable and shim it to hold the choke open... Or can we just use a regular steel nut? we don't want to replace the whole cable.

James, The 'nut' you are talking talking about goes on end of chock cable right? If it is then look at attachment should be number 26.

The attachment shows where it goes. I have found if you set the chock on between 1/2- 3/4 it will keep it from stripping it while removing and make it easier to install on the carb. Just be careful it is plastic and easy to mess up the threads.

Without the chock cable installed it will not run right.
