Default LT 80 problems

I have a 2000 LT 80 Suzuki that keeps dripping gas out of the exhaust where it connects to the bike. I don't knoiw alot about these machines, but I did recently take off the exhaust to remove the restrictor plate and when I put it back on I noticed the leak. I'm also in the process of installing a new petcock to hopefully solve the flooding problem. Will the new petcock solve the exhaust leaking problem?

Welcome to the forums.
If the leaking is caused by the motor being filled with fuel, yes a new petcock "should" stop it.
I personally think this is common and just the way 2 strokes are.
You could try a new exhaust gasket.
I've seen new petcocks leak. Get a on/off valve (3 bucks or so) at advance auto or a lawn mower shop.

Thanks for the response. I was just concerned because the muffler wasn't leaking until I took it off to remove the restrictor plate. I installed the new petcock yesterday so I'll test run it this evening to see if the leak is stopped. That little quad flies now without the restrictor on the muffler!!!

Welcome to the forums.
If you start your own thread maybe more will see and respond.
Anyways, If it has not started since rebuild, try bringing up the compression with a few drops of oil in the plug hole.
Is the plug wet with fuel?
Sometimes you need to hand choke them with 2 fingers in front of the carb (never figured out why).
Guess we'll go from there.
