Getting the clutch cover off is what takes the most time.
FYI's:::A impact wrench should be used to remove the clutch nuts.
To make it easy, I cut the footpegs in 1/2 and make a rod to reconnect. This allows the left footpeg to come off and out of the way.
The BIG nut on the rear clutch is left handed thread.
Get the head shaved .030 while it's apart.
105-115 inch pounds on the head nuts.
Arrow on the piston toward the exhaust.
The rings press against the cylinder walls, thus it wears out like you mention. Forget the oil and you'll see wear up and down LMAO.
