Ok here is my question, I can purchase this little jewel for $250.00 but it will not start and it missing the key. The owner says he has replaced the coil but it still has no spark. What is the worst case sinerio? CDI,Stator,???? I cant afford to be upside down in this thing..

What year is it?

I'd check the stator.

Its a 2006 I think its 4st. I have no clue what the guy has done to it he just said he replaced the coil. I have some KTM little bike experience and would bet stator on them but on the little 4st I didn't know the weakest link ie: cdi,stator,coil.... I think I am going to try to buy it today. I am guessing it should be worth close to $1k if its clean and running good?

A 06 is a 4 stroke according to the parts fiche.
It shows the stator listing at $192.69

A grand for a clean good running Z50 would be a good deal IMO.
ALTHO, the 4 stroke Z50's are a real slow and gutless from what I'm told. It is what it is. And that is,,a high quality start out machine.
I don't know what your goal in a machine is but a 2 stroke 50 may be a better choice.

Suzuki 50 problem solved. Gotta admit i have been trolling these forums for about a month. Seems like alot of people have the same issue yet no one posts the resolution.

After my daughters quadsport 50 suddenly died a month ago i went thru the painful process of elimination which involved: checking electical system and kill switches, replacing petcock, replacing coil, spark plug, carb, and air filter. After all this still not running.

Last thing, traced wire that runs into the crankcase. Removed pull start, and flywheel which revealed my answer. The stator had a very minimal amount of corrosion and the flywheel magnets were also a little dirty. Somehow. Some moisture had gotten in there. Once i lightly sanded the stator sides, cleaner the magnets and put back together it started right up. I consider myself a pro on these now. Always come back and post what solved your issues Please!
