Eiger 4 wheel drive problem

I have a 2006 suzuki eiger that will not go into 4 wheel drive. I am a new member of this group and will appreciate any help .

Your cable is too tight to allow the dog to engage.
Cable jammed.

It used to be ok, I heard a clunk the other day and now there is no resistance when i move the shift lever from 2 to 4 wheel drive

If the cable is broke then it should be in 4X4. Are you sure it is not in 4X4 all the time?

Disassemble the 2wd/4wd shifter and see if the cable end has broken loose from the plastic end. If so, you will need to replace in order to switch to 2wd. The new ones are all metal.
