It sounds like you have dirt in carb or fuel valve not working correctly. Maybe lack of fuel flow to carb. You can try running it with fuel valve on PRI but do not leave it there while not running. The jets should have the number on them with you take it apart. I do not think they changed the stock jets, so main should be 122. It sounds like you have an issue with lack of fuel above idle but ok on main jet. So it sounds like you need a good carb cleaning.

UPDATE********************************
So, after all of the above....here is how it sits:
1. Shimmed the carb needle up per local dealer recommendation FIRST before changing jetting (For some reason this stock needle did not have a spring clip w/ grooved notches??)
2. Carb Spring clipped approx. 1"
3. Stock airbox with a UNI inside
4. Replaced the spark arrestor back in the muffler (Seemed to run better with it???)
5. Replaced spark plug. Old one was blackened. What does that mean?
5. Still starts when cold, but only with full choke.
6. Runs OK from about 1/2-WOT....
BUT......IT still falls on it's face from Zero to almost 1/2 throttle. POWERS OUT and WILL DIE if I leave the throttle pressed all the way in! I have to let off the throttle to prevent this....and GRADUALLY build into the throttle to even get moving from a stand-still

THis quad is the Auto trans. Basically back to stock...except a UNI filter and a carb needle shim at this point. I had an '04 Eiger Manual trans I bought New back in '04 and that thing ROCKED!! Never cold start/running problems like this.....EVER. And it was ALL stock.

AND....what adds to the frustration here.....Just checked the gas tank and it has 33 miles on it since fillup and it is on "E" empty. Popped the cap and indeed the fuel level is way low and almost gone. ???? WTH????

HELP! I just want a responsive Eiger from Zero throttle to WOT!!!! I'm not a real power-guri either. Just want a respectable quad to perform as it should.

I know this may sound strange but check spark. Check to make sure it is not intermittent. Check it for like 10-20 seconds to make sure it is not skipping once in a while. It is an easy check and would rule out any elec. problems. Other wise it sounds like you still have a jet/passageway dirty. Not the main jet.

My quad was doing the same thing, with the starting an taking off, my pilot jet was clogged enough so it'd idle on choke kinda but takeoff sucked an if I took choke off shed die right away.

Has your quad sat a while?

Cow, I know this is an old thread, but I think the petcock has failed and you proabaly have fuel in your oil. That will cause it to run like crap. Check the oil and if it has gas in it, replace the stupid auto petcock with a manual(ON, OFF, RES) one. Then change the oil and filter.
