Looks like a great site here! I will be needing an ATV before winter rolls in, I was looking at Suzuki and Yamahas today. I don't know much about these things but I sure like the feel and size of the suzuki 500, what are all your thought on Suzuki vs. yamaha vs. honda? I was originally thinking yamaha or honda but now I'm thinking suzuki. Anybody want to try and talk me out of a suzuki? I will be using the atv mainly for plowing snow with some fun mixed in. Thanks!

 

Welcome to our site !!....As far as your first ATV, make sure its something YOU want, not what we tell you to want. Sit on them all, see how they fit and feel, do they have the features you want/need? Test drive, see how they handle, if you are going to do a lot of plowing, EPS is a nice add on (Electronic Power Steering) Another thing a lot of people overlook is the dealership itself, are they friendly and helpful? are they willing to go that extra mile to make you happy and take care of your quad? The best deal in the world means little if your dealer is a bum that only sees you as a source of income.Better to drive a little for a good dealer than save a few bucks and have some arrogant s.o.b. to deal with whenever you have a problem.

Good reply! Dealers/customer support does mean alot.
Unless it's a race/sport machine, I'm done with Honda's (and I have a honda tattoo).I'm done with jerky auto shifting.
I like CVT's (belt drive). No shifting-grab and go.This is what the Suzuki and Yamaha models will have.
Don't rule out Arctic Cat.
You can rule out Polaris'....LMAO

 

Thanks for the feedback! Funny you should say no to Polaris, my local dealer is a "arrogant s.o.b." so I had already ruled them out. Yamaha/Suzuki dealer seems to be the most friendly and eager so far to answer all my dumb questions, I hadn't thought about the power steering aspect for plowing snow, great point!
