late 80s ltf160 quadrunner help needed
#1
So i bought a quadrunner the other day for $300. The problem is that the chain came off and was very loose. So i took it to a mechanic who told me it needed bushings as well as some other parts for the swingarm, which is loose. The partss and labor would come to $305 and i dont want to double my investment, so can anyone shed some light on a cheap fix? Thanks!

Quads don't come cheap, just a heads-up. You are always going to put more and more money into it. Your best bet is to do the work yourself. Swingarm bearings are like $40 and axle bearings are like $20 and like $10 for grease. Those are probably the items you will need, plus a wrench or two. Its not that hard and should only take you maybe 3-6 hours depending on experience.

Weld what? Nothing that you have described has any means for welding. You need to just buy the parts you need and install them. Is something cracked or broken that you want to weld?
