So I have this 84 lt125 that my Mom got used... when she was 13. I've been tinkering with it to try to get it going again. So far we haven't succesfully pull started it yet. But it will pop start and run for about 30 or so seconds, driving under its own power. The float and needle function as they should, but the carb itself is really not in good shape and the primer skirt is trashed (When the odometer quit it had 5000 miles on it. That was 6 years before it was stored.) Does this sound like a carb issue, and if so what should I look for? None of the rebuild kits have the primer skirt with them. Could there be an air leak somewhere else?
