Default Suzuzki quadmaster 50 choke position (on/off)

Hi! I am new to this forum. I've searched this topic and ran into two totally different answers within other threads. Which position on a 2002 Suzuki Quadmaster 50 turns the choke ON, up or down?

My son's quad ran fine and all day in the UP position. I got a smokin deal on this quad because the guy was having issues with it turning off after riding for a few mins. I pulled the carb apart, had the local shop dip it in acid for 4 hrs, rebuilt the carb, and replaced the intake gasket as well. It has a new filter, and I also cleaned out the petcock. It's not cutting off anymore, well, not unless I push down on the choke lever. It will completely shut off when I do.

There is a thread somewhere on this.
I remember that the choke position was opposite from what I (and others) thought was normal.
Usually up is choke on..cept for these I'm thinking.

I found a post saying it was opposite, and another saying it was not.

I think up is off on this quad.
