Default Eiger problem

Hello, I am new to this forum and I am hoping someone can help me with an Eiger problem. Ihave a 2003 Eiger that starts and idles fine but will not rev up. As soon as you touch the throttle it dies and sometimes backfires. It will rev up if I partially block the air intake at the air box. So far I have done the following: (1) Thoroughly cleaned the carb (6 times) and installed a new carb kit. (2) Installed new valves. (3) Checked valve clearance. (4) Checked timing. (5) Checked flywheel for loose magnets and partially sheared key.(6) Tried a different CDI box. (7) Tried a different Carb. (8) Tried a different gas tank (in case the fuel valve wasn't pumping enough fuel. After all of this it still will only rev up if I partially restrict the air flow and I am getting totally frustrated. Hope someone out there can shine some light on this problem.

Did you try putting the petcock on pri? Have you checked/reset the mixture screw?

Yes I tried the prime position. As my post mentioned I even tried a different fuel tank thinking that maybe the fuel petcock/fuel pump was not putting out enough fuel pressure.

Intake and Exhaust valves. I changed them because one intake valve was not seating properly and I had a 36% leakdown.

From your first post you did many good things but when you say by partially blocking intake it revs this means it is very lean. When you cleaned the carb did you use smal wire to unblock the small hole ports?
If you put choke does it run better?
On mine I put the Dynojet kit for main and on third notch.
It has really waken it up. Used the #126 jet.
I have a mixture recipe if you want it for cleaning carb good.
It came from another user with good results.
Those carbs are finicky when they need cleaning.

Good Luck

Norm

I will take any information you have. I installed a complete new carb kit. I used a fine wire and 100 lbs compressed air to clear all ports. I used a can of spray carb cleaner on it and also let it sit in carb cleaner over a weekend.

But first let's assume you did good on the cleaning, try to find if it's
running lean. Remove airbox and partially block intake like choking and if it's running better you're running lean.
