Ok thanks..Does the fuel pump purge everytime you turn the atv on? do you have an new spark plug in atv? Have you done any mods to it lately? Has atv done this the whole it you had it?

 

Yes, the fuel pump "kicks" on everytime, if thats what you mean by purge. Sorry not a mechanic. Spark plug is less than a year old, less than 500 miles on it. No mods have ever been done to it. It just started doing it probably 6-7 months ago, but not all the time. I'm trying to baby it through winter since its all I have to plow with. I said earlier about the butterly being black when i took the air cleaner off. Any idea what that might suggest, or being related somehow?

 

Well an black butterfly here in our state fuel quailty will cause an black butterfly..I think I would inspect spark plugs first an look at the color of them..The 500 miles isnt really an good way to tell bout plugs..bad quailty fuel here can destory an plug in less then 10 mins. if atv sits any at all here [over 30 day] fuel is dead..So I would look at plugs they will tell more of an story of whats going on...The color is what were looking for...Thanks.PS..I know these plugs arenot easy to get to on this model

 

Also may try to run atv without the air box lid for an second or so to see if ran better that..if it does may want to inspect the air snorkel to see if an rat or chipmonk or dirtdopper has built an nest in air way an its restricting the air to engine...
