Crap..Lost my 2 chips..
A plugged jet won't make a plug wet but a float problem would.
Do the carb again inspecting the float needle and seat.
Let the carb fill with fuel then pull the supply line off (so we know fuel is not gushing into the motor)and try starting it. Apply full throttls as the bottom end is prolly all wet.
Lets see what happens.

Pipe:: Might be a washer resrictor in but 99% chance it's been removed. If it's blowing air out the pipe when turning over, it's prolly not plugged.I take the pipe off and blow thru it if need be.

LT,

You nailed it. Plugged pipe. Pulled the pipe off.... wont even go into the rusted bolts... especially the &%$#&Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word & on the bottom.

Or the 3 times I pulled carb off and checked the same crap I knew was good the first two times.

Is what it is. What is the pipe fix? Doubt its ever been off. Can I throw it in my brush fire I burn saturday? Is there a restrict or washer that needs removed on this one?

Jack...really appreciate your help. I knew I was close, it would try to fire every once in a while. When I pulled the plug and there was still pressure in the cylinder..... your suggestion of the pipe being plugged made sense.

Finished it up yesterday. Had wife leave the pipe in the fireplace all day. That opened it up. Once it was back on, would run a bit (5-6 seconds) and die. Choke on/off made no difference. Pulled the carb again and cleaned good and used my compressor to blow things out. Runs like a top now.

I did add an inline fuel filter. Even though I worked on the tank, still getting bits and pieces from the tank.

I now know to check the pipe first. Takes just a second to put your finger over the end and see if it is breathing.

LT, thanks again.
