Z250 carb options

Z250 carb options
Have any of you z250 owners upgraded to a simpler carb? Something like a mikuni tm30?
I've searched and seen where people have upgraded to the z400 carb, but I want to try a carb that doesn't have all of the vacuum diaphragms, plus my engine is stock and I think a z400 carb would be too large.
