sounds like the pilot jet is stopped up maybe, starts fine cold but when it warms up gets to lean to stay running, start let it run till it stall out, pull choke, if it starts, carb needs to be cleaned, pilot jet clogged, if not check OMHs on pulse pickup coil in stator, ricks has then cheap. u checked the ALT. part of the stator, out put volts.

Default Lt-f500f update 3-4-14

All:

Finally got to install the stator in this today. In doing so, when I removed the stator housing three thrust washers "appeared" at the bottom of the case when removed from the engine. I have searched the service manual to see if they are all located in a stack together ( as they were, neatly so) when I pulled the cover, or did that happen by chance and they go elsewhere. The parts and service manuals are of little help. I am attaching pics...any suggestions?

Thanks!

Default HELP!! About ready to SCREAM!!!

All:
Really pleading for a clue here...after much intense diagnosis it appeared that the stator was losing output and subsequently I replaced it. Got everything back together; now it has no spark. I have checked and rechecked all connections, followed the troubleshooting guide in the service manual, and still no spark.
Any suggestions out there? I've been messing with this for a long time and have never had anything frustrate me like this!!!

HELP, PLEASE!!!

I had the same problem with a Vinson. We had the stator re-wound and it wouldn't spark afterwards. It turned out that the prawns that rewound it had got the wiring wrong. There was something peculiar about the Vinson stator, the pickup coil was wired into the stator windings. We fitted a new genuine Suzuki unit and the problem was solved.

Default LT-F500F Electrical Woes continued...

Checked all the connections today. Pulled the stator cover to check interior for pinches, etc. Found NOTHING. Reassembled to point of being able to turn over to check spark. NOTHING.....fuses all OK. Unit had spark prior to changing stator out.
