Default 1996 King Quad 12V outlet

I am doing some wiring on my quad and plan to install a 12V outlet.

Any reason it won't work on the side of the front fender beside the steering column?

Since I don't have many posts I'm not sure I'm allowed to post pictures yet, or if I am, I'm not sure how to do it from my computer which would clarify it better.

Thanks

KQ

Before all the dc outlets were installed in the head light pods,a lot of people installed them on fenders, front panels, etc on Polaris machines. Choice is yours as to a mounting point. I'd just find a wire that's only on with the key switch, splice into it.You possibly may have an unused accessory wire, then tie the ground wire to a common grounding wire point or to the frame.

Thoughts on a max amp rating for a fuse in this type setup? I'm not going to think the factory ACC wire would be fused.

10 amp be enough?

Most cases a 10 amp fuse for the accessory outlet is good enough. Wouldn't go any larger as you'd want the fuse to blow rather than having the wiring melt or an electrical fire. Large draw spot lights could be a problem, but normal accessories should be ok.

The only thing I've ever used for my 12V outlet on my Rancher is a tire inflator. But its nice to have it. Its located on the left front fender which is probably a common location for most of them.
