Victory,

Yes you are correct. In fact one of the quads ridden was a Honda Foreman S. and yes he made it up the hills easily, and could out run me. But that may have been more do to the rider then machine, but then he had about 150cc then me also.

By the way, that was the machine that got the flat. I can agree with Bill about better tires, but I got through with stock.

And no one had to hit Bill on the head, the heights got him dizzy enough.

I will be posting my comment on the ride in the riding area of this forum.

Now Chuck you know damn well that im going to tell it like it is,at least thats what I think. Now sometimes I could be wrong, but you know I'll never admit to being wrong.Heck,I cant even say the word wrong, you know that.

Yah,the KQs did an excellant job in the mountains,I was suprised with Erics worn out tires that he did as well as he did.An man,one of these days im going to get you in a lower gear when climbing them hills?

No thanks Bill... I can take care of it myself. If I do need help finding a gear to get up that hill, it must be the weight of the Exploerer, on a tow rope behide... :0)

Actually, thats the good thing about the automatic, you are not worried about climbing a hill in to high a gear, especailly the 2 strokers.I was worried one time when I was behind you and heard the KQs engine really working hard.I was unsure if you would make it,but you did.Now the tow rope thing,if you remember correctly,it was'
nt MY Xplorer we were having problems getting to to accelerate or had to go back and add exaust disks to because it was running to rich?In fact, the Xplorer ran flawlessly the entire trip.

I bet your still hearing ring ring ring?[lol]

Bill, I will have to go with you one of these days. I'd like see these hills you were on... I love the ho, the only time I've wanted the King again, was descending steep hills.. It does have the superior ebs... Besides you may need another Polaris along, too help pull all the Kings out of the mud....

Low Gear,
not very much mud on these trails and I really did'nt get to show off the Mudrunners.Mostly tight/technicle trails that were perfect for the KQs low center of gravity. My higher sitting 4x4 Polaris felt somewhat nerving and high centered alot on these mountain sides with nothing below you.Ecorman and Eric read GPS readings at allmost 2300ft from the parking lot.Thats a LONG way up.

Generally speaking,I would not take the KQ over my Xplorer either for allmost any other situation, but these mountain hills changed my mind.Maybe another rider would see it differantly,I did not like being that high centered on the Xplorer. Now I tried to get Eric on my Xplorer so he could experience what real acceleration was,but there really was no place to open the ATVs up,so he declined my offer.Ecorman has allready rode my ATV,he'll be buying one soon.lol,

Bill,
You may be right. It probably is a rider preference kind of thing. I prefer the ride of the Sportsman. It seems to be forgiving, especially when leaning off camber..
There is one hill in particular that we ride sideways across the length of it.. I went across it on the King 1 time.. never again. It felt like it was going to roll down it sideways..
I cross this hill all the time on Sportsman. It feels 100 percent better, even with the higher center of gravity.. I've even slowed to a crawl before, and it didn't feel like I was going to roll over... Of course, what feels comfortable to me, may scare the hell out of somebody else, and vice/versa....

Bad joke Bill! You'll be buying another quad first. The 650 Kaw, is hunting you down...
And I'm not the one...

Ecorman,
what does my ex brother John know about me and quads?I forgot more about quads than he'll ever know in a life time. And besides, you know him and any other part of the family dont associate anymore. He is not even concidered a family member anymore, remember,it was HIM that did'nt show up for his own mothers funeral. The 650 is really not haunting me yet,and I think I can take one the way im set up right now with the Xplorer,if not,you know I'll probably mod somemore.I dont want another payment as I just paid off the Xplorer a few months ago.I'll be ok if I stay out of the Kawi showroom floor, than I wont get the itch.

Low Gear,
I cant imagine anyone feeling better on the higher sitting Polaris in them Mountains, however,I do totally agree that two differant riders could have differant preferances. You might like being on the Sportsman in the Mountains, where as someone else may not,I think we call it rider preferance.Anyways,as long as your comfortable with it,its all ok,
Bill
