2006 Vinson shift problems
#1
I recently acquired a 2006 Vinson 500 automatic. I've had intermittent problems with not being able to shift. Sometimes it gets stuck in reverse, forward or park. The only way to get the shifter to move is to shut the engine off. I have it home in my garage now for Winter maintenance and off course it's working fine now.
I found the brake pedal release cable was not adjusted correctly so it would shift in and out of park without needing to apply the brakes. I now have it adjusted correctly so the brakes must be applied to shift in or out of park. Could the adjustment have been the shift problem?
I don't want it to sit if there is still a problem. But it seems to be working fine now.
Thanks for any suggestions
